October 23-26, 2022

SIGACCESS Diversity and Inclusion Scholarship

SIGACCESS supports technology innovation by and for people with disabilities, older adults and neurodiverse communities. The ACM SIGACCESS Diversity and Inclusion Scholarship Award supports in person and virtual attendance at the ASSETS 2022 Conference on Computers and Accessibility.

This scholarship program provides support for diverse communities that are underrepresented in the accessibility research field, to encourage participation in the ASSETS conferences. Examples include, but are not limited to, researchers, practitioners, or advocates who have disabilities (which may include a variety of experiences such as neurodiversity, intellectual disabilities, cognitive disabilities, psychosocial disabilities, chronic illness, or sensory, motor, or physical disabilities), researchers, practitioners, or advocates who are deaf, and older adults, faculty and students from historically Black and Hispanic-serving institutions in the United States, researchers, practitioners and advocates working in developing regions, researchers, practitioners, and advocates who work outside of academia, members of Black, Indigenous or other communities of color, or individuals bringing LGBTQ+ perspectives to accessible computing. Increasing participation from these communities will contribute to the academic perspective of ASSETS and help create a more supportive, welcoming and inclusive ASSETS conference.
